Delightfully illustrated, Spotty’s Secret opens a window into the toy shop where dolls and stuffed animals are free to be alive when people are not around. Their nights are fun-filled, but a fear of being thrown out looms over poor Spotty, a puppy in the “Squeeze-My-Paw” collection. He does no tricks when his paw is squeezed. All the dolls and stuffed animals know the lazy stock boy throws broken toys away instead of sending them back to the toy factory for repairs. King Max, the rhyming lion and leader of the toys, tells Spotty he must find the answer to his problem within himself. Spotty is not so sure he will succeed. Will Spotty and his friends be able to save him from a lonely end in the dumpster?

The Cuddlies often chanted, “Hello, we each want a child to love. We hate the dresser snug as a glove.” Teri Bear and the rest of the Cuddlies were adorable stuffed animals stored upstairs in an old, green dresser in the home of Jenny and Jim Brookmore. The Brookmores had stopped selling them in their toy shop. Teri Bear, leader of the Cuddlies, helped her friends dream a dream, plan a plan, and risk a risk to find children to love. The story invites children, adults reading the story to children, and any stuffed animals sitting nearby into the secret, sometimes dangerous world of the Cuddlies. Each will enjoy the humor and adventure from a different perspective.
